Welcome to SMD Ilmenau!
Who are we?
We are a Christian student group at the TU Ilmenau university and part of the Student Mission in Germany (SMD), which is a network of groups throughout Germany and worldwide. The SMD is connected to partner organizations in other countries through the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES).
What do we do?
As a group, our goal is to build fellowship in Ilmenau and create a space where we can openly discuss meaningful topics and grow in our faith together. Everyone is welcome to join—not just Christians!
When do we meet?
We meet every Wednesday evening during the semester (see Semester schedule below 👀). Our events usually start at 7:30 p.m.
Where do we meet?
The location varies depending on the event. The three meeting places are:
- Café (basement) of the EFG Church Güldene Pforte
📍Güldene Pforte 1, 98693 Ilmenau - Lighthouse (behind the REWE supermarket parking lot on Pörlitzer Höhe)
📍Wohngebietstreff Pörlitzer Höhe, 98693 Ilmenau - Room HU-011 in the basement of the Humboldt Building (below the Audimax lecture hall)
📍Gustav-Kirchhoff-Platz 1, 98693 Ilmenau
